About

On August 28, 2011, Hurricane Irene caused a flood in the Schoharie Valley of Upstate New York. Our home, as well as most of the homes in our rural village, were invaded by muddy rushing water, rising to about five feet on our first floor. In the days and weeks that followed, many people came to help us recover and rebuild. Most of them wee people we had never met, and many were from other parts of the country. This blog is my way of  letting far away friends see the progress in the rebuilding process and to help me sort out and share some of my thoughts and feelings.
